NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING

Dietary modification is an important part of achieving optimal health. Eating to support the body systems or correct a condition is tailored to each patient; there is no ‘one size fits all’ in terms of diet. Most diets contain at the very least a kernel of clinical utility, whether new and trendy or supported with long-term studies. However, discerning the clinical value of dietary changes requires careful assessment of the individual in the context of their health history, laboratory test results, goals, and lifestyle.

Nutritional counseling is typically not aimed at weight loss in this office, but is focused on systemic support, decreasing inflammation, and correcting diet-related deficiencies or excesses. Weight loss is often a side effect of correct dietary habits.
